Being banana means
You're Chinese but can't speak/understand Mandarin (or poorly).
You practise the Caucasian lifestyle.
You speak fluent English or have an accent.
You're well-off. (Let's face it, most of them are rich)
Most of you go to international schools.
You reject/dislike/ignorant of your culture norm.
You look like a mixed/ you are one.
Your clothes are from highstreet/high-end outlets.
You dress casual, nothing over the top.
Your hairstyle is probably famous among Caucasians.
You might have been abroad studying or travelling. (Again, wealthy.)
You get excited when you have Asian food and you brag about this special occasion on social media.
Being Asian means
You have a typical Asian look. (Stereotyping but yes, our features mainly consist of single eye lids, flat noses, round faces and thin lips.)
You dress like one too. (Kawaii style, Chinese style etc)
You like statement pieces, clothing with cartoons on them, mismatched colours.
You stutter when you speak English. Badly. (I do)
You post food pictures regularly.
You can't post a single status without committing any grammar mistakes.
You have the 'accent'.
You have straight bushy brows and you tint them to look brown.
Coloured contacts and magnifying lenses are your friends.
You follow the trend of visiting every hot cafes in town. ( Not to mention you take loads of selfies and food pics while you're there.)
You are into K pop.
These are just based on my experience and observation.
I have no means of judging or stereotyping anybody.
I think being happy to be in your roots is a great thing but people can have their own opinion on the ways they live. This is a free world. Discover yourself but be comfortable in your own skin :)
